Weight Watchers – Best Popular Diet

Weight WatchersWeight Watchers is currently one of the most popular diet plans in the fitness world. It is one of the most followed and most effective plans for ordinary individuals everywhere. It’s a system where every type of food has a point system assigned to it. The goal of the program is to help you get more nutrition from less food.

The program started over 40 years ago by Jean Nidetch. It has evolved a lot since then, but still the same principles are used. It used to be a small community club that would meet together often to track eachother and help each other out. Now, although that is still available, the program is mostly done online.

If you want to lose weight, and get more nutrition in your diet this will be a great help to you. Yet, still if you seem to lack the motivation to keep up with it, you can go to the meetings. On the website you can find meetings near you to join. They really help people stay motivated by providing inspiration and success stories, and helping you be accountable for what you eat.

Millions have benefited from this great diet plan. It’s been termed as “The best Diet Plan”. It could help you out just as much. Check it out.

It’s time to start arising early.

Sun RiseI recently looked up the word ‘arise’ in the dictionary. It means to Spring Forth! There’s a famous saying by Benjamin Franklin that says Early to bed, Early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. Growing up I wondered how it would make a difference what time you go to bed or get up as long as you get a full night’s rest. It’s begun to make more sense as I’ve gotten older.

When you ‘arise’ early, you tend to do productive things. Things such as exercise, chores, reading, writing, or other productive activities. When you stay up late at night, usually your mind is tired from the day, and you just want to do relaxing things like watch TV or surf the internet or play on facebook.

I am amazed at the difference in a day when I arise early, and get the things done that I want to get done. I experimented with this concept. For 2 full years I kept a strict adherence to a 10:30 bedtime and a 6:30 wake up time. It was tough at first, but my body quickly adjusted to it, and loved it. I felt a notable difference in my physical energy level and my mind was invigorated throughout the day. By the time 10:30 came around in the evening my mind and body were tired and ready for bed, but when 6:30 rolled around, getting up was surprisingly easy. My body expected it and as a result I was able to spring forth in my morning activities with ease. For those 2 years I was amazed at how much I was able to accomplish in my morning hours, as opposed to what I used to try to do in my evening hours. The difference is incredible.

The human body seems to be built to arise with the sun. It may take a little bit of discipline, but it’s worth it. The difference it makes in life is great. Try it out!

Learning to Dance

Dancing is one of the earliest forms of entertainment. Yes the moves, rhythms, patterns, and techniques have evolved a lot over time, but dancing is as old as music. Dancing has been used for anything from religious rituals, performance to nobility, to finding a mate. Only recently has it begun to be used as a form of exercise.

There are some forms of dancing that are aimed solely at physical exercise. While others are more for entertainment, they can still provide plenty of physical exercise. If you ask professional dancers, they will tell you that it can be one of the most physically exhausting sports out there.

The most popular dances are latin dances such as Salsa, Chacha, Tango, Rhumba, and more. Other popular dances are Swing in its many varieties, Walts, Fox Trot, and more. Dancing can be fun, romantic, engaging, and good for the body and mind. It’s a great way to break the ice for couples.

A popular modern dance that has swept the world lately is called Zumba. Basically a style of dancing that is aimed at getting a good workout to popular hit music. Over 12 million people take weekly Zumba classes to keep them in shape. It’s so popular because anyone can do it, and it really works well. All you have to do is let the music move you and go with it.

A great idea if you want to learn how to dance is to get a partner. A partner will really help motivate you to keep it up, and the two of you can learn together.

Pick a dance style that you’re interested in and I bet you can find lessons on it where ever you’re living. Try this out! Let us know how it goes. Thanks!

Turn off the TV

Did you know that the average American spends at least 4 hours of every single day watching TV? That adds up fast! That’s about 1/6 of every day is dedicated to the TV. Of all the activities we could think of, TV watching is the absolute least productive. Even sleeping is better for our bodies and minds than watching TV.
If there were a way that we could replace time spent on Television to something more productive, we would see an enourmous jump in productivity throughout the world. Not only this, but our minds and bodies would be dramatically healthier and happier.

If there is one healthy lifestyle change that will make a difference in your life, I would suggest to unplug the TV. Don’t pay for cable or satellite in your home. If you can’t live without it, find a way to limit yourself to at most 1 hour per day. Find a way to spend the extra time being active. over 1/3rd of all Americans are overweight. The likeliness of being overweight for someone who watches less than one hour per day are far less than someone who watches more than 3 hours per day.

Make a commitment to turn off the TV and get a life. You will feel much better in every aspect of your life. Many American’s are addicted to television without realizing it. It is imperative to our happiness and health that we put television in its place and not let it control us.

Try this out and see how it helps you.

Getting Into Sports

One of the best ways to stay in shape is to play a lot of sports. This will make your body an athlete’s body. When it comes to sports, your choices are practically endless. There are numberless sports out there that you could learn to play. When your intent is to get in shape, you should try to get into sports that will demand a lot of physical exercise.

Some of the most popular high-active sports include Basketball, Football, Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball, and Tennis. These sports should be fairly easy to find teams or games around town that you could join. Some will be more competitive, and some will be more relaxed. You should find a team that matches the competitive level that you’re comfortable with.

When you play sports you should try to always keep the best sportsmanship possible in order to be welcomed into future games. This includes keeping all the rules as exactly as possible. Don’t think that because you don’t get caught that it’s okay to break the rules. It’s also very important to keep a positive attitude all the time no matter what. Don’t start complaining when you start losing, and don’t accuse any of your teammates of not playing well. If you keep a positive attitude it will help your team’s moral and you will perform better, and they will want to have you on their team for future games.

It’s very important have good sportsmanship by being respectful to the other team. If you start to get angry with them, and be too competitive you will start to look like a fool. Although you should always try to play your hardest, and try your best to win, it’s important not to disrespect the other teammates. This is bad sportsmanship. Make sure you have good sportsmanship in winning and losing. These things will help you to enjoy yourself while playing sports, and they will ensure that the other players won’t get tired of you. Even if they aren’t very good at playing, a good sport is usually always welcome in any game.

Good luck!

Get a bike!

One of the main problems in our age is that we are so pampered by our technology, it seems like we hardly ever need to use our bodies for anything anymore. With cars, computers, and cell phones we can do most everything we need with as little effort as possible. While this is very comfortable and convenient for us, it takes a toll on our bodies. Our bodies become weak, soft, uncoordinated, and unhealthy. Keeping our bodies healthy is vital to keeping our minds invigorated and happy. If we let our body go, our mind will slump with it. We don’t want that. We should do whatever we can to make use of our bodies every day, to keep that from happening.

One of the very best ways to do this is to get ourselves a bike. We are so used to hopping in the car to go to work, school, or just down the block, that we don’t even think about it any more. That has become our sole means of transportation. An alternative to driving is biking. It takes a bit longer, and requires more effort on our part, but it is very enjoyable and very healthy.

Plan out your schedule to give yourself a little extra travel time so that you can bike instead of drive. Biking is a great Cardiovascular activity, and is great for your legs. It’s also fun to do with friends. Its much better than running because it doesn’t hurt your knees or joints. Another benefit is the cost. It really saves on Gas money. As you bike from place to place you will notice more about your city and your surroundings, and will likely end up meeting more people.

Make sure to always wear a helmet, and follow all traffic rules as you bike around town. Make it as safe as it is fun. When you get into the habit of biking you’ll never want to go back to driving. This is one of the healthiest lifestyle changes we could do. Pass the idea on. More people ought to do this.

For those who live in an area where biking may not be possible for whatever reason, you can always look at getting a stationary exercise bike and using it in your home.

Good luck with it! See you next time!

Let’s try some Yoga!

Have you ever noticed how many people are doing Yoga these days? It has become one of the most widely used fitness practices in the country. If you have ever thought about trying it out, we recommend it. It is a very effective method for not only staying healthy physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as well. The benefits of doing yoga stretch into all aspects of your life, and help you throughout the day.

Before trying out Yoga, take time to learn some of the basic considerations you should be aware of. This will help you to decide whether you want to try it out or not.

Lets go through some do’s and don’ts. Don’t be afraid to show your feet. Yoga is always done barefoot. It would be impolite to your instructor to wear shoes. It would also make the experience less effective.

Don’t be chompin’ on gum the whole time. Spit it out beforehand. Yoga requires you to be very still for extended periods of time, to help you focus your mind. This is impossible if you’re chewing gum the whole time.

Don’t eat before you go. You will find it much easier to bend and stretch and concentrate if you haven’t eaten for several hours. Plan ahead for your yoga class to arrange for this. If you do Yoga in the morning, you could consider eating something light, just to get your metabolism going.

Yoga is all about self control. Therefore if you have any addictions such as smoking, alcohol, or coffee, tea or anything else, try to quit and break the habit immediately. This will greatly enhance your ability to focus and gain control of yourself.

Pay attention to what you wear. Make sure your outfit is comfortable and keeps you feeling free. If you wear jeans, dresses, or dress shirts, you will wish you hadn’t. Make sure to wear clothes that keep you uninhibited from moving as much as you want. This will make a big difference.

Follow the tradition of using a Yoga Mat. You may not think it is important, but your mind can focus better when you use a mat because it perceives the mat as “your space” and doesn’t worry about taking in all of your surroundings as much. Also if you fall you will be grateful for your pad.

If you’re not flexible, don’t worry. That will come. Just give it the best you can and you will see results in your body, in your mind, and in your spirit.

Good Luck!

Step #1 – It’s all about Routine!

Of all the places to start changing your lifestyle for the better, the first step is your ROUTINE. All of our days are based on a routine that we’ve either carefully constructed, or allowed to be dumped on us. The first step to taking control of your life is taking control of your routine.

With just a quick glance at your regular routine you might say, “I get up, go to work, come home, eat, read a book, watch TV, surf the web, and go to bed.” That’s a pretty average routine. Fun life eh? It will be different for each person, but sometimes not much. The trick is getting down into the nitty gritty of how you spend the minutes of the day.

Tips: In the morning, how early do you wake up? Do you have any sort of exercise routine? If not, then this is your first step. Figure out how to add one in. Don’t worry too much about what to do for now. Just focus on setting aside time (30 min or so at least) to do SOMETHING Physical. Lots of people like to run in the mornings. For me, if its less than 40 degrees outside I don’t like to (I know, I’m a pansy) so I use a treadmill. Treadmills are Wonderful motivators to get you active in the mornings. Mine has helped me immensely. If you don’t have one, consider getting one. They don’t have to cost a lot. Here’s a great site to help you choose one and save money on it if you’d like. www.treadmillreview.com. If you’re man enough to brave the weather, go for it! Just do something!

If a morning time exercise routine doesn’t work consider another time. It is imperative to your health and happiness that you make time somewhere. We can all do this no matter how busy we think we are.

Ideas: Aside from this one chunk of time, it’s important to stay as active as we reasonably can throughout the day. Even if it means taking the stairs instead of the elevator. If it’s possible to walk to work or school instead of drive, do that! Get a dog and play ball with him or take him on walks. Anything that will get your heart going a little throughout the day. Find a dance class, take up tennis or basketball or some other hobby. These kinds of things are always available. Whatever you do, MAKE IT FUN.

Good luck. Stay tuned for our next post.
